I have been a Camden resident for more than 30 years. I am an elected borough councillor for the Camden Town with Primrose Hill Ward and I was the Deputy Mayor of Camden 2016-17 and Mayor of Camden 2017-18. I am currently the Chair of the London Labour Mayors’ Association which was founded by Clement Attlee in 1920. I have always been fascinated by local history. I am passionate about all things Camden and particularly interested in its diversity as a welcoming home to generations of migrants from all over the world. I enjoy showing people my borough and showcasing its radical traditions which have nurtured feminists like Mary Wollstonecraft, politicians like Barbara Castle, Krishna Menon and Keir Starmer, writers like George Bernard Shaw and Virginia Woolf and groundbreaking academics like Kathleen Lonsdale. I am also interested in the borough’s literary and artistic legacy and its large number of museums and galleries. I am happy to guide in any part of the borough and on any subject as there is so much scope.
