First and Quirky London Walks

I am a qualified Camden and Islington Guide – qualifying in 2017 and 2014 with strong ancestry connections to both boroughs, going back over 350 years.

Pre lockdown I gained experience guiding social, educational and corporate groups.

I lead a series of  ‘First and Quirky walks’ around both Camden and Islington and more recently around Brixton, Wapping, the South Bank and Bethnal Green with more new walks being added regularly.

‘First and Quirky’ – the ‘firsts’ referring to anything that made an impact on the country or the world for the ‘first’ time – the more diverse the better (such as the first Pearly King, first Crufts Dog Show, worlds first chain store, first road to have a hymn written about it) – and ‘quirky’ those lesser known facts that you always wanted to know but never knew why!  As with all my walks we end in the pub (usually with a historic connection) where I am more than happy to have a chat and answer any questions about a particular stop or give more detail about a place.

More recently I have started to host a series of ‘Virtual tours’ converting some of these actual walks into virtual tours.  Details about future dates can be found on ‘Eventbrite’ and to see what people say, check out my ‘Trip Advisor’ – both are under the name of ‘First and Quirky London Walks’.

I hope to see you soon either in person or virtually.
