Alison is a French, German and Spanish teacher who loves exploring London on foot or by bike to piece together the endlessly fascinating jigsaw of its history and people. Currently training to become a Blue Badge London Guide, she is particularly interested in developing interactive walks to engage a teenage audience of English-language learners who are perhaps visiting London to improve their English (and have fun with their classmates) as much as to visit the tourist sights.
Having formerly lived in Bloomsbury and Crouch End and worked in Holborn, her walks include ‘London’s Legal Quarter, Past and Present’ and “The Coals, Canals and (Ice-Cream) Cornets of King’s Cross’. She loves escaping from the tourist main-stream and helping visitors to discover for themselves the buzz of living, working and hanging out in central and North London.
